Face Warmers...Super Easy!

Living in Minnesota, it gets cold out! So glad we had our face warmers yesterday when we went sledding with the kids.

This is a great present for kids, snowmobilers and motorcyclists (My Hubby and Brother-in-Law use them when it's a chilly ride)!  If you know how to cut and sew a straight stitch on a sewing machine, you can make this!

You will need:
1 yard of polar fleece
2 bandanas
thread to match
scissors
sewing machine

This makes 4 bandanas and you could use the left over fabric for kid sized face warmers.

  1. Fold bandana diagonally and cut along folded edge.
  2. Lay out polar fleece and fold hotdog style.  In photo 2, note that uncut edges are closest to the bottom of the photo. Then, lay two of the pieces of bandana out as seen in photo 3.  Leave about 1 inch of fabric along long edge of bandana.  Leave 4-5 inches on each side.
  3. Cut polar fleece same size along two sides of bandana and cut fabric as show in photo 3.  The extentions cut in photo 3 are about 4 inches long and 2 inches wide.
  4. Pin bandana to polar fleece wrong sides together!

5.  Sew along two sides of bandana with a straight stitch then turn the fabric right side out.
6.  Fold top edge over bandana and pin
7.  End flaps get folded over each other (see photo 7)
8.  Sew a straight stitch along top from one end to the other.

This is a pink furry one I did for myself.  I highly recommend polar fleece for the back side since the fabric doesn't have to have a finished edge and won't fray.
